給媽媽的羊毛氈扣針 Felted Wool Pin for Mom

寒冬已過, 春天才做起襯托媽媽羊毛氈頸巾的扣針 (羊毛氈頸巾是給媽媽的生日禮物).  我真的非常慢.  開始不久便放在一旁, 偶然又拿出來"拮兩拮", 又把它收起....太多不同的事情要做, 變得每樣東西都做不好了.

玫瑰花形的扣針是用羊毛片組合成的.  因為用上頸巾相同的顏色, 要加一些綠色才能把花朵突顯出來.  因為頸巾在媽媽處, 未能一起拍個照.

DH 說花瓣略厚了些.  我沒想過啊!  挺些不好嗎?

The cold winter is over, but I've just finished the wool pin to match mom's wool scarf (made for her birthday).  I'm really slow in DIYs.  I've started this pin quite a while ago, but every time I do a little and put it down.  Pick it up and then put it away again.....  There are too many things to do, so nothing much is done at the end.

The rose pin is made of separate pedals felted together.  Since the same colours are used, some green at the bottom is needed to make the flower stand out.  I can't take pictures of it with the scarf yet, because the scarf is at mom's.

DH said the petals are a bit too thick.  I didn't think about this...At least it's stiffer this way?

濕地公園之旅~預上翠鳥(下) Wetland Park~Meeting the Common Kingfisher (Part 2)

進入泥灘觀鳥屋, 已看到一排人坐着"打雀".  喔!  原來又有翠鳥!  兩隻, 一大一小!  不知今天為何那麽好運!  兩隻分別站在一條柱上.  一隻是小翠鳥, 另一隻是白胸翡翠.  小翠鳥停留了很久, 大飽眼福!  有時突然不見了牠們, 因為牠們不斷穿插水中嘗試捕魚, 接着又飛回原處等待.

Lots of people were already seated in a row inside the bird-viewing house.  Oh!  Kingfisher again!  Two of them, actually.  One big and one small!  So lucky today!  Each bird occupies a pole.  One is a small Kingfisher and the other one is a White-throated Kingfisher.  The little Kingfisher stayed for a long time so I had the chance to stare at him/her for quite a while.  Sometimes they disappeared because they kept digging into the water, hoping to catch a fish.  After that they return to their pole and waited again.

Crop 後放大有點模糊, 但看得較清楚.  好開心!  ^_^  This photo is a bit blurred after being cropped and enlarged.  But the details are clearer.  Very happy! 

當天也有很多快絕種的黑臉琵鷺, 這是其中一邊.  There were also many (extinghishing) Black-faced Spoonbills.  Here are some of them.  The others on another side.

觀鳥屋內望出去.  一片寧靜, 很愛這感覺....  左面有一堆黑臉琵鷺, 右面另一堆黑臉琵鷺.  View from the bird-viewing house.  Peaceful and quiet.  I really like this feeling.  You can see some Black-faced Spoonbills on the left, and some on the right.

很喜歡這幅.  I really like this picture.

很有型.  Looks very cool.

在看甚麼呢?

又是拍完才知是甚麼鳥.  以為是白頭鵯, 原來是白喉紅臀鵯.  I thought this was a Chinese Bulbul, but after uploading the photos, I found that it's a Sooty-headed Bulbul.

也有很多鴨鴨.  There are also many ducks.

濕地公園之旅~預上翠鳥(上) Wetland Park~Meeting the Common Kingfisher (Part 1)

遲了些寫這篇文....

這次到濕地滿有收獲的。  竟預上難得一見的翠鳥， 還要是三隻那麼多！  超幸運的！

自從開始觀鳥後， 便一直很想親眼看看這隻人見人愛的小翠鳥。  單看書上的圖片已經覺得很吸引。  翠鳥身形很小，只有16cm.  顏色鮮豔， 有耀眼的藍色羽毛， 胖嘟嘟的， 很可愛。

曾經在米埔親眼目睹過翠鳥的風采。  去年初春參加觀鳥團看過。  當年只看到有一粒藍色， 亦拍得一粒的藍色 （總算還看到牠是甚麼鳥）， 已滿心歡喜的！  若非工作人員指出， 恐怕錯過了牠。  牠們總愛很有型的站在柱上四週觀望 （看看有沒有魚）。  那天在米埔觀鳥屋也看到比牠較大的白胸翡翠， 但是很遠， 且天色轉暗， 不是看的太清楚。

說回濕地。  入園後第一件事到上次見到龜龜的位置。  果然龜龜又在曬太陽。  今天有陽光， 拍照最好了！  見到樹枝上有粒東西, 用Canon 當望遠鏡看看是什麼。  大發現!  我最想看到的小翠鳥!!  拍了很多幅相片.  ^_^

It's been some time since the trip....

This time I saw quite a lot at the Hong Kong Wetland Park.  I met the bird that I most wanted to see~the adorable Common Kingfisher!  I don't know why it's named "Common" Kingfisher because it really isn't that common to see.  I consider myself very lucky today because I got the chance to meet three kingfishers!

The Common Kingfisher is a small bird, only 16cm in length.  It has a bright glittering blue colour that looks attractive even in pictures. 

I have once met this bird at Mai Po last early Spring.  I saw it from a distance and I could only see a tiny spot of blue.  I took a picture of it and it was...a tiny spot of blue, barely recognizing it as a Common Kingfisher.  Back then I didn't have my Canon Superzoom yet.  If the guide didn't point it out I would have probably missed it.  I also got to see the White-throated Kingfisher inside the Mai Po bird house, but the lighting wasn't quite right and it was a bit too far away.

Back to the Wetland Park.  The first spot I went to upon entering the park was where the turtles stay.  Last time I saw them there so I went to have a look.  Yup!  They're there.  Then I saw a strange tiny spot on the branches nearby.  I used my Canon as binoculars and I saw what I wanted to see!  A Common Kingfisher!  I took lots of photos.  It was mostly sunny today, a good day to take pictures.  Yeah!

見倒一粒嘅翠鳥嗎?  Zoom 鏡短啲都影唔倒.  Can you spot the birdie?  The superzoom is a great help.

看了很久, 翠鳥都走了, 我便繼續....

So I stayed for a long time until the little bird was gone.  Continue.

又是可愛的白鶺鴒.  The cute White Wagtail again.

又來另一隻, 顏色淺些, 是不是白鶺鴒?  有沒有人可答我?  Here comes another one, but the colour is lighter.  Is it also a White Wagtail?  Anyone can tell me?

鸕鷀們通常都佔據這處.  The Great Cormorant usually occupy the space here. 

貝貝今日好嚇人!  Pui Pui...looks scary today.

紅耳鵯玩水定冲涼?  Red-whiskered Bulbul, playing in the water or taking a bath?

木柱也可以很美.  Just wood poles can look beautiful.

景色怡人

很多時肉眼只看到有鳥鳥在遠方, 拍下來才看清是甚麼鳥.  本以為是斑鳩, 怎知原來有隻鳥鳥在扮斑鳩...哈!  左ニ是不是棕背伯勞?  帶上眼罩的牠很可愛.  Sometimes I can't recognize what kind of bird it is until I zoom in to take a picture.  Originally I just thought these were all doves, but there was actually one bird that was pretending to be a dove, ha ha!  Isn't it a Long-tailed Shrike at the 2nd left?  It's a very cute bird with a black eye mask.

這倒影很美.  Lovely reflection.

有時水涱看不到彈塗魚.  今天有很多.  牠們挺惡的, 你看牠表情就知...  很搞笑.  Sometimes when the water level is high you can't see the mudskippers.  Today there are lots.  They can get quite mad sometimes, you can tell by its expression....  Very funny creatures.
